Bringing back tradition with space-themed handcrafted toys

This toy design collection was directed, designed and prototyped as a creative project and it landed a contract with a Chinese toy manufacturer as well as being featured in a magazine called Designer Books (Superplayer 3 Edition).

The collection combines a minimalistic and modern aesthetic with the traditional brazilian wood handcraft. The toy carries a symbolic meaning as it carries a cultural and historical perspective of making things.

Designing with purpose

We are reviving something that is dying with today industrial methods, bringing more attention to how handcrafted objects have changed people’s lives in the past (and still do), while also using a more humanistic approach to design.

In addition to the space-themed toys, a spaceship collection was created, and it consists of the same aesthetics, but with the use of wood automata, such as gears and cams.
